Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Days after it was reported that Charlize Theron will be playing the new villain for the next installment of the franchise “Fast & Furious,” Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson officially welcomed the actress in his latest post.

The WWE wrestler and actor took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a snap of him with the actress. He wrote on the caption: “Want to officially welcome my good bud and all around bad ass Charlize Theron to Fast & Furious 8. When MTV asked her how she felt about coming in and playing the villain, her response was classic and the reason why I love that woman.. she said, ‘I’m coming to mess that s— up!’”

Theron joins Johnson, Vin Diesel, Eva Mendes, Michelle Rodriquez , Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and more. Aside from Theron being a new face in the upcoming installment of the franchise, Kristofer Hivju and Scott Eastwood also signed up for new roles.

Theron shared in a recent interview regarding her character in the upcoming movie: "I feel like that gang has got the driving down. Like, they have a really good thing going. I don't know if I need to step in in that department. I might have to step in a different department. I think they have the driving down. I just want to gently ease fans into not expecting too much from me behind the wheel."

“Straight Outta Compton” director F. Gary Gray recently shared that he will be directing the yet-to-be titled movie. He took to Facebook to say that he could not ask for better partners than Diesel, Neal H. Moritz, and the Universal Studios Entertainment family.

This marks the first installment without Paul Walker. He was able to film scenes for “Furious 7” but some parts were edited as he died halfway through filming the flick via a car accident.
