Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin split in March 2014 and in a new interview, the actress talked about how there is still pain regarding the matter and that they are still a family despite divorcing.

According to reports, the “It’s All Easy” author was interviewed on “CBS This Morning” and “Live! With Kelly and Michael” on Wednesday. Paltrow talked about her divorce from the Coldplay frontman and she shared that it was not easy at first.

Paltrow shared on the CBS show, "We had very good teachers. We really concentrated on the idea of trying to be a family."

The two continue to be spotted together out and about mostly with their children since their split. She noted in the CBS interview that they were able to make their relationship work, despite it not being romantic, by focusing on the family unit. The former couple shares two children.

She added, "We are a family. We are really putting [our kids] first." Although divorce could sometimes bring out the worst in people, the Goop creator shared that they had to make everything under control so as to not let their split turn ugly. She added that she and Martin tried to reconnect with love and friendship.

As for her interview with Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on their show, Paltrow talked about supporting her ex-husband and his incredible career. She shared, "I want [Apple and Moses] to see me celebrate their dad. There's always pain and hurt and a sense of loss and grief. It's hard to let go and try to make a family."

She added, "I think it's hard. In divorce, there's always pain and hurt and a sense of loss and grief and it's hard to really let go and put that aside and still maintain a family, which is what we're trying to do for the sake of the children, genuinely, so we can all be together and go through life together. Chris and I are not a couple but we are still a family."
