Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Jessica Alba may be a sexy and hot momma now but she said that during her younger years in the Hollywood industry, she was not comfortable at all being a Hollywood virgin sex symbol.
The Golden Globe-nominated actress shared with InStyle magazine that back when she was 19 years old, her sexuality made her very uncomfortable. She shared, "I remember my first Maxim shoot, they were telling me to pose a certain way, and I was like, ' Agh ! I'm 19. I'm a virgin. I don't even know how to do that.' It was so awkward."
The Honest co-founder is one of People magazine’s most beautiful as well as the number one in Maxim’s Hot 100 list. However, it was not initially what she wanted. She shared that she went through a life crisis as she felt that she was so much more than just a sex symbol. She pointed out that she wanted to be seen as something else but she did not know how not to be a sex symbol.
One of the possible reasons why Alba did not adapt too well with Hollywood was because she was more of a tomboy and she preferred pants over dresses. Also, she was raised in a Catholic household. She revealed that the first time she wore a dress and heels was when she had to attend the Golden Globes but was not clear what year was that.
She continued to reveal more about her childhood, "I was definitely born different. I loved to challenge authority. I was a very difficult child to parent. I was hyper. I didn't sleep a lot. And being sick so often and being in and out of the hospital so much made it hard to form relationships."
Despite these, Alba has successfully played the sultry roles in “Sin City,” “Dark Angel” and “Into the Blue.” She has become the screen siren of the action genre of movies. She only identified with the image shaped for her when she was 25 years old.
Alba has not been seen in the big screen for quite some time now and she has announced that she will be playing the role of Gina in the upcoming “Mechanic: Resurrection.” Although it still goes with the Hollywood virgin sex symbol coining for her, she said that Gina is tough and kicks ass that is why she wanted to do the movie.
Alba is married to Cash Warren and have two daughter together, seven-year-old Honor and four-year-old Haven.
