Santa Ana, CA, United States (4E) – The son of former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Lauri Peterson, Josh Waring , was arrested on Monday due to suspicion of attempted murder during a shooting in California.

Police officials confirmed the news and said that the arrest took place hours after the shooting. Before he was arrested, there was a police chase in Santa Ana. 27-year-old Waring allegedly shot a 35-year-old man in the lower torso.

Aside from suspicion of attempted murder, Waring and another person, who is said to be a San Juan Capistrano resident, were charged with suspicion of vehicle theft, hit and run, and felony evading police. The bail of Waring was set at $1 million.

Waring fled the scene u sing a stolen 2011 BMW X3 SUV. The vehicle was spotted eight hours later via an Orange County Sheriff's Department helicopter. The SUV crashed so Waring tried getting away via running. Costa Mesa police added in a statement, "After a brief standoff, he surrendered without further incident to the Santa Ana police." He was located at a store in the area.

Police officials added that the shooting was due to a disagreement but they have no details yet as to what the confrontation was about.

This is not the first run-in with the law of Waring as he recently pleaded not guilty to felony drug and forgery charges in May. The case also included possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. In 2008, Waring pleaded guilty to three felony counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and six misdemeanors related to drug use and/or possession.

Peterson was part of “Real Housewives of Orange County” from 2006 to 2008. The drug addiction and other problems of Waring were featured in some of the episodes of the show. Waring has a wife and a child but since they are both troubled and struggling, Peterson and her husband adopted their granddaughter.
