New York City, NY, United States (4E) – Kesha’s hearing in court regarding the lawsuit against her producer Dr. Luke has been pushed back to next month.
The # FreeKesha protest has been trending online as her fans are hoping that the legal battle between Kesha and her former producer would come to an end initially this January. It has been rescheduled for a February 19 hearing.
The 28-year-old singer was expecting to learn if she could start recording new music but due to “travel problems,” the injunction hearing in New York had to be moved. The fan rally for the # FreeKesha protest has also been moved. It was supposed to take place outside the New York State Supreme Court.
Kesha has posted a black and white photo showing half of her face and tears from her eye as she wrote: “Tears because I know my animals spent time and money and love and effort to come support me and I cannot help in any way. I'm so sorry. I just spent the past hour reading about everyone and how much effort they went to to come and I'm heartbroken and I'm so sorry;((( I wish I could control this somehow but I can't and it's so frustrating…”
Aside from Kesha’s post, Michael Eisele , who runs the @keshatoday Twitter account, also posted about the movement that is being supported by many of the singer’s fans. Accordingly, the protest has been organized with a Care2 petition, that has been signed by over 111,000 people.
The statement also reads, "The Care2 petition has amassed support from Kesha fans, Kesha's mother [ Pebe Sebert ] and even comedian Margaret Cho.”
The lawsuit has been filed in October 2014 after the “TiK ToK” singer alleged that Dr. Luke has abused her sexually, physically, verbally, and emotionally .Dr. Luke, on the other hand, countersued for defamation.
