Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Miley Cyrus is reportedly set to star in the new Amazon series that Woody Allen is working on and if true, this would mark the singer’s first ever TV gig since Disney’s “Hannah Montana.”

According to reports, the new Amazon series of Allen is still untitled and the main cast will include Cyrus. Cyrus, 23, will reportedly star alongside Elaine May, 83, and Allen himself. The shows will be 30 minutes long and the pilot season will have only six episodes. It will reportedly be set in the 1960s .

This also marks the first venture of Allen into television. The series will also be written and directed by him. When asked about the Amazon series after it was announced last year, Allen said in an interview, "I don't know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I'm not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this."

When the series was announced, Roy Price, the vice president of Amazon Studios, had nothing but praise for Allen. He noted that Allen is a visionary creator who has made some of the greatest films of all-time and it is an honor for them to be working with him on his first ever television series.

Price added, "From Annie Hall to Blue Jasmine, Woody has been at the creative forefront of American cinema and we couldn't be more excited to premiere his first TV series exclusively on Prime Instant Video next year."

There are no other details available yet regarding the series or when specifically will it be out in Amazon. There are also no other reports on who will be joining Cyrus and May. It is still unclear, however, if Cyrus is really part of the cast as she has not publicly confirmed it yet.

More on Cyrus, a source shared, “She is looking to change her look up for the new year and get back into some acting but is determined to go short again when the time is right. Her look is not for a guy, not for Liam. It is all career oriented.”
