Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Miley Cyrus recently said in a statement that she has never been a Mariah Carey fan and dropped some major bombshell about her “Hannah Montana” days while working with Disney.

Cyrus was interviewed by Elle magazine and she said that despite being famous for the hit Disney show, the pay was not at par with her fame. She said that she was the star of the Disney show but was paid the least of the cast members.

She shared, "I mean, at one point – they'll probably kill me for saying it – I was probably the least paid person on my [Hannah Montana] cast because I didn't know any better. I was just like, I can be on Disney! Yeah, I want to do it! My name was Miley on my show, but I didn't own my name – we didn't think about it like that."

In the show, Cyrus was a high school student who was also a superstar. The show also starred Emily Osment as her best friend Lilly and Jason Earles as her brother. Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, was also her dad on the show.

She said that her mother started to understand how many people take advantage of a child so she hired some people to protect her rights. She added, “I'm happy that when I was younger, people protected me and put me in a position where I can now control my music.”

“The Voice” coach also talked about Carey in her interview. She shared, "I've never really been a fan, because it's so much about Mariah Carey. That's part of her shtick. That's part of what makes her a gay icon. Like, it's about Mimi! It's about what she's wearing, and it's about her."

The 23-year-old then compared herself to Carey saying that for her music and art, it is not about her but it is about someone being connected to what she is saying.

Now that she is a coach on “The Voice,” Cyrus said that she wants to help the singers auditioning for the hit NBC show.
