Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Robert Downey Jr . will reportedly be seen as Iron Man in the new movie “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
According to reports, the “Captain America: Civil War” will not be the last time that the two well-known superheroes will be seen together on the big screens. Tom Holland will be starring as Spider-Man in the new film and it will reportedly focus on the dynamic relationship between Tony Starke and Peter Parker.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” will also be starring Marisa Tomei as Peter Parker’s aunt May, Tony Revolori , Laure Harrier, and Zendaya . The title of the new film was released earlier this month during the CinemaCon in Las Vegas. Accordingly, it is a reference to the high school event and its plot centers on Peter Parker finding his true identity and where he really belongs in the world, said Sony Pictures Chairman Tom Rothman .
Spider-Man was previously licensed exclusively by Sony but a sharing arrangement in 2015 was able to allow the character to be part of Marvel Studios. Marvel Studios president Kevin Faige talked about the sharing agreement, “He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth.” Feige will be producing “Spider-Man: Homecoming” with former Sony studio chief Amy Pascal.
According to other reports Michael Keaton is being eyed as the one who will play the villain role in “Spider-Man: Homecoming.”
The new Spider-Man film is set for a July 7, 2017 release.
