Redondo Beach, CA, United States (4E) – On Wednesday, it was confirmed that World Wrestling Entertainment legendary wrestler Chyna , born Joanie Laurer , passed away at the age of 45.

Police officials in Redondo Beach, California confirmed the news. She was found dead in her apartment and officials said they were notified by a friend who went to check on her and found the wrestler unresponsive. The cause of death is not yet determined and it is under investigation. However, police say that there are no signs of foul play.

A post on her website reads: "It is with deep sadness to inform you that we lost a true icon, a real life superhero. Joanie Laurer aka Chyna , the 9th wonder of the world, has passed away."

After Chyna graduated from the University of Tampa, Chyna started training in the world of professional wrestling. Back in 1996, she was named “Rookie of the Year for the Women’s Championship.” She wrestled in the Royal Rumble and King of Ring tournaments and became the only undefeated Women's Champion in WWF (World Wrestling Federation) history.

Stephanie McMahon of WWE posted: "She was truly a pioneer in our industry, and she will be missed. # RIPChyna ." Other wrestlers also posted tributes to the late entertainer.

In the final days of the WWE legend, things seemed a bit rocky for her based on her posts on her social media accounts. On Sunday, Chyna shared a video, which was 13 minutes long. She expressed in the video how lucky she feels but as per her tone and facial expressions, she seemed a bit sad. She also slurred her words as she made a smoothie.

A few days before the video was uploaded, she took to Twitter to say that she was going to reenact the famous shower scene from the movie “Psycho,” wherein the woman was stabbed to death. Fans were concerned but she said that she is in a good place. The next day, she posted old photos of her with different co-wrestlers from WWE. She said that she misses everyone.

She also shared two photos of herself and a black eye was very visible. She did not respond to fans asking how she is.
