Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Angelina Jolie honored her late mother by agreeing to be the face of the Mon Guerlain perfume as the actress said her mother loved the product.
This is the first international beauty campaign that Jolie will be involved with after quite a number of years. The 41-year-old mother-of-six shared of her decision to be the face of the perfume in an interview with Marie Claire. Jolie said, “It was a brand my mother loved, so I knew it from my childhood. It spoke to her, as it does to me, of beauty, history, and quality; one of the oldest perfume houses in the world, from France, a country I love and feel connected to.”
Jolie’s mother, Marcheline Bertrand, said her mother died in January of 2007 at the age of 56. Bertrand lost her battle to cancer, which she fought for more than seven years. Jolie said her mother was a very natural woman who never spoiled herself, never wore makeup, and wore only modest jewelry. Jolie added that Bertrand still had a few special items that make her feel like a lady and one of those is the Mon Guerlain powder.
Bertrand had small roles in movies such as the 1983 flick “The Man Who Loved Women.” Bertrand had her children, Jolie and her brother Haven, with Jon Voight. Voight and Bertrand eventually separated when Jolie was still a toddler. She raised them both as a single mother.
In 2014, Jolie shared more about her other during her interview with Marie Claire. She said during that time, “I feel in contact with my mother when I look at my children. I can feel her influence over me then. I see that my way of raising them resembles the way she raised my brother and I. It’s more apparent with my daughters Shiloh and Vivienne. Therefore, yes, my mother is there, present in this influence, all the time.”
More on Jolie, she reportedly recently purchased a mansion owned by the late Cecil B. DeMille. The property is said to have spent $25 million for the mansion located in the Los Feliz area in Los Angeles. The property sits in a 2.1-acre land and is the largest and highest lot in Laughlin Park. It has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms.
The new home came after her divorce from her long-time partner and husband of two years, Brad Pitt. They divorced last year.
