Washington, DC, United States (4E) – Reports claiming that actress Angelina Jolie Pitt will be teaching at the Georgetown University this fall have surfaced but the university denied the rumors.
The 41-year-old was rumored to be a visiting professor at the Washington, D.C. private college and the university said in a statement, "We enjoy a partnership with the London School of Economics as part of that work, where Angelina Jolie and William Hague are scheduled to teach a class in the fall. There are no current plans for Ms. Jolie to teach at Georgetown."
The university added that they have an open invitation to Hague and Jolie Pitt if they want to share their experiences and perspectives at George town University anytime they wish to do so.
Jolie Pitt was reported last May to join the London School of Economics as a visiting professor for the university’s new master’s degree course on women, peace, and security. She will be a visiting professor for the 2016-2017 school year and will teach alongside Hague.
In a statement about teaching in the London School of Economics’ latest master’s decree course, Jolie Pitt said that she is encouraged by the creation of the program and that she hopes other academic institutions will follow the example noting that it is needed that people broaden the discussion on how to advance women’s rights and end the exemption for crimes that affect women at a greater impact.
Jolie Pitt said that she will share her own experiences of being able to work alongside different governments on the topic as well as with the United Nations.
