Ben Higgins reveals why he and Lauren Bushnell decided to end engagement

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell decided to end their engagement and head to splitsville after a joint announcement on Monday and now the “Bachelor” star broke his silence about the reason for the break-up.
Higgins started hosting this new podcast alongside another “Bachelor” alum, Ashley Iaconetti, and in one of the clips, Higgins talked about ending his romantic relationship with Bushnell. He said that Bushnell will always be one of his best friends. He added, “It’s tough. It’s hard to say goodbye to somebody that you spent so much time with and it’s hard to say goodbye to somebody that you really did believe was the one for you. I’m sad. I’m a little confused, a little lost, but I’m doing alright.”
Higgins noted that they both saw life was getting more difficult and that the joy they felt at the beginning of their relationship started slipping away. He said that they both worked to try and bring the joy back in their life but they never seemed to get it back. Higgins also said that although they did not get the joy back in their relationship, it was not like they dragged themselves to stay in the relationship.
As for trying to save their relationship for the last time before they decided to break-up, Higgins said there was no redemption to be done. He also said that their decision to end their engagement was for the best.
The two spent time together in Denver, Colorado, the hometown of Bushnell. After the break-up, Higgins went back to Los Angeles. He is now busy redecorating his home.
The new podcast of Higgins and Iaconetti is titled “Ben and Ashley: Almost Famous.” It will launch this May 23.
