Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Beyonce cancelled her commitment to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year as it was announced she will not be pushing through with the original plan due to the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy.

AEG Live/Goldenvoice, the agency promoting Coachella, has not released any statement regarding the possible replacement of Beyonce. The postponement came weeks after the “Halo” singer announced that she is carrying not one but two babies as they are expanding their family. Accordingly, Beyonce’s decision to cancel her performance was because of doctor’s orders.

The whole statement regarding the cancellation of Beyonce’s headlining post reads, "Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for understanding.”

Coachella 2017 will open on April 15 to 17 and will continue through the two consecutive weekends. Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead will headline this year’s other dates. Beyonce was supposed to be the first female act to headline Coachella since Bjork’s 2007 performance. She was set to perform for April 15 and 22 while Radiohead will be performing on April 14 and 21. Lamar, on the other hand, was supposed to perform on April 16 and 23.

The news about Beyonce no longer performing had a negative effect on the event as the tickets’ prices have dipped. For the first weekend, the ticket prices dropped to 12 percent. The original ticket price was $978 and now it is at $872. For the second weekend, it dropped 3 percent.

Rumors claim the artists who might take Beyonce’s place at the Coachella 2017 are Pink, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Missy Elliot, Jennifer Hudson, Nicki Minaj, and many more. There are no confirmations yet as to who will be performing in place of Beyonce and if the artist will also be a female or if the organizers will have a male artist.
