Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – “Big Bang Theory” might no longer have a Season 11 after it was confirmed “Young Sheldon,” a prequel, to the series, is set in stone and was given the green light with Jim Parsons, who plays the old Sheldon Cooper, as the one who will narrate the spin-off series.
Rumors have surfaced “The Big Bang Theory” might still have two more seasons after Season 10 but many are doubting that because CBS just ordered “Young Sheldon.” The show will focus on the nine-year-old self of Sheldon Coper and Iain Armitage will be taking on the role.
The story will also show Sheldon’s younger self already in high school even at a young age and will live with his family in east Texas. Armitage currently plays Ziggy Chapman, the boy accused of bullying in HBO miniseries “Big Little Lies.”
Other actors tapped for “Young Sheldon” are Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Zoe Perry. Perry will play the role of Sheldon’s mother, Mary Cooper. Details about the roles of the other stars named to join the cast are kept under wraps but rumors claim Barber will play the role of Sheldon’s father while Revord will play the role of the twin sister of Sheldon. Jordan might play the role of Sheldon’s older brother.
The spinoff series was created by the executive producers of “TBBT,” Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. Jon Favreau will direct the first episode of the spinoff series.
More on “Big Bang Theory,” the main stars of the show offered to have their pay decreased in order to increase the salary of Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch.
