Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani may be a hot item right now but love did not come easily for the two of them as he revealed that it was chaotic at first in his new interview with Rolling Stone.
The two singers have bonded over writing the song “Go Ahead and Brake My Heart” as well as had something in common in the past months because they both went through their own divorces.
Shelton shared that they were starting to film “The Voice” last year and he did know that by the time the show airs, his life will have completely changed because of his divorce from ex-wife Miranda Lambert. He added, “I just felt like there doesn't need to be secrets. And then the same thing [happened] with Gwen. It was like, ‘Here's what's going on, this show ain't gonna air until three months from now, so let's get this talked about right now.’”
The two then turned to each other when they announced that their marriages were falling apart. He also revealed that they did not romantically connected originally as they just started to develop a friendship. He noted that it took a while for them to be linked in a romantic sense as it was chaotic.
He also shared in his latest interview that the album “If I’m Honest” was his way of getting his divorce out of his system. But the album actually made him and Stefani even closer. He shared, “But as I was making the record, other developments were happening. I was spending some time with Gwen all of a sudden, and she became my closest ally, my friend, my person in my life who had my back, and I had hers.”
As for the tabloid reports, he said that it used to upset him but the media just can’t let go of anything he has to do. He joked, “It must mean my career is doing pretty well, because my personal life's not that exciting. I'm almost 40 years old. I don't do that much. I'm kind of a slug. But they damn sure want pictures of it.”
