Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Brad Pitt found a way to cope with his divorce from his long-time partner, Angelina Jolie, as she revealed in a new interview that he enjoys sculpting.
Pitt was interviewed by GQ Style for the magazine’s latest edition and he said that his foray into sculpting and listening to good music has become deeper since his split. The cover story revealed he is making sculptures at the studio of his friend Thomas Houseago. He said that sculpting is something he has been wanting to do in the past 10 years.
He shared, “I’m making everything. I’m working with clay, plaster, rebar, wood. Just trying to learn the materials. You know, I surprise myself. But it’s a very, very lonely occupation. There’s a lot of manual labor, which is good for me right now. A lot of lugging clay around, chopping and moving and cleaning up after yourself.” As for his taste in music, Pitt noted that he has been listening to Frank Ocean as well as Marvin Gaye.
The actor further revealed he has quit drinking and has been working with two therapists. He admitted that he drank heavily in the past as well as used pot a lot. He added, "I can't remember a day since I got out of college when I wasn't boozing or had a spliff, or something. I'm really, really happy to be done with all of that. I mean I stopped everything except boozing when I started my family. But even this last year, you know – things I wasn't dealing with. I was boozing too much."
Jolie and Pitt divorced in September 2016. Their divorce became very public after but the issues have quieted down. The two have decided to abandon the path of vitriolic hatred in order to work together since it is the best to do for their six children.
