Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E) – Britney Spears is no longer doing her shows in Las Vegas for her “Britney: Piece of Me” residency and she posted details on her social media accounts regarding the matter.
Spears’ contract with Caesars Entertainment was only for four years and the final performance will be on New Year’s Eve this 2018. Her first show was on December of 2013.
Spears said in her statement that she will return to the Axis at Planet Hollywood on September 3. That will be the start of the final 18 performances she will have in Las Vegas. She added, "As I prepare to say goodbye to 'Piece of Me,' I had no idea how magical this experience would be. Having my fans from around the world come see my show has been amazing. I love Las Vegas and will miss performing this show."
The 35-year-old also took to Twitter to say that saying goodbye to “Britney: Piece of Me” will be difficult as she tweeted a photo of the last dates for her Las Vegas residency. She will have one show on September, nine on October, three on November and five on December. The ticket sales for the final shows will go on sale to the public this Friday.
Spears’ Vegas residency is one of the most successful residencies and her audiences are much younger compared to the other audiences of the other performers. Just this February, tickets were sold out and the ticket sales reached more than $100 million. The manager of Spears, Larry Rudolph, said regarding their plans in the future, “We are done with this show, and our next move is undecided. We are still talking with Caesars Entertainment and other interested parties in Las Vegas.” He did not reveal details about this.
Spears will still have shows in Las Vegas this May. She will be touring in Asia and Israel in the coming months before going back to Las Vegas this September.
