Britney Spears helping Louisiana flood victims by raising money, raffling VMAs outfit

Baton Rogue, LA, United States (4E) – Britney Spears is raising money for the Louisiana flood victims by raffling off her VMAs outfit and she is teaming up with the American Red Cross and CrowdRise .

According to reports, people will have to donate $10 and they will be given a chance to win an outfit that she is planning to wear for this Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards or a trip to meet her in New York City before the show starts. Spears grew up in Kentwood , Louisiana and has a home there. The latest flooding in Louisiana has been named the worst U.S. natural disaster after Hurricane Sandy.

The mother-of-two took to Twitter to post about the effort. The prizes include a roundtrip airfare for 2 to New York City and two tickets to the MTV VMAs on top of meeting her before the performance. A separate winner will be winning the outfit of Spears and an autographed latest album of the singer.

Aside from Spears, Taylor Swift also donated $1 million last week. She said in a statement, "We began the 1989 world tour in Louisiana and the wonderful fans there made us feel completely at home. The fact that so many people in Louisiana have been forced out of their own homes this week is heartbreaking."

More than 60,000 homes were damaged all over Louisiana and 106,000 people have registered for federal disaster aid. 2,800 people remain to be in shelters. At least 11 people were killed from the flooding.
