Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Caitlyn Jenner shocked many when she revealed via Vanity Fair that she identifies as a woman now and in her latest book titled “The Secrets of My Life,” she revealed she underwent gender confirmation surgery.

The surgery came two years after she came out as a woman. The 67-year-old former Olympian said in her new memoir that she had the surgery in January. She noted that she wanted to let people know via her new book because she wanted everyone to stop staring. She added, "You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it."

The excerpts from the book were released by RadarOnline. The book will be out by April 25 via Grand Central Publishing. In the excerpt, she also said that she decided to undergo surgery although it was complex as she said she wanted to have all the right parts and wanted to feel liberated.

Jenner had a docu-series called “I Am Cait” to document how she has been after transitioning to a woman. During that time, she said she was not considering having gender confirmation surgery as she was not ready for it yet. She said on her book that another compelling reason why she underwent the surgery was because she was tired of “tucking” the male private part every time.

Her best friend, Laverne Cox, also underwent the same surgery she did.

Jenner’s family has not yet commented on the report.
