Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – “The Voice” has never had a woman coach win in nine seasons so for the upcoming season 10 of the hit reality show, Christina Aguilera hopes to break the “girl curse.”
Aguilera and her fellow coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and Pharrell Williams were interviewed recently and they felt like Aguilera could win this season. Shelton shared, “She has the team to beat right now.” He added that they even got to steal some great singers from the team of Aguilera during the battle rounds.
She then said that she really hopes to break the “girl curse” noting that “It’s gotta stop at some point!” the 35-year-old added, "We're going to win it. [I'm] in it to win it this time [and] break the girl curse. I've got to play the cards right. I've been taking notes from the guys for years now. Adam [Levine] came in full force [since] Season 1. He's like the ultimate salesman [and] I've taken notes from this guy for years now."
Aguilera added that as for Williams, he’s what she calls “Mr. Humble” and he has his own strategy, too, which works for him.
Aguilera took a break last season to focus on being a mother to her children and work on new projects resulting to Gwen Stefani, 46, taking her place. Aguilera then revealed that she talked to Stefani when she attended the former’s son’s birthday.
The singer added, “I remember telling her at [her son] Zuma's birthday party, 'Just do me one favor when you go in.’ I think I was like eight months pregnant and like, 'Please, give the boys hell. Break the girl curse.' And it still hasn't been done yet, so I know she's rooting me on, too, to come try and fix that."
“The Voice” will be returning this Monday on NBC at 8 P.M.
