Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Ed Sheeran revealed in a new interview with Rolling Stone that he knew some of the people he considered his friends were only after his money after the Forbes magazine listed his income as $57 million in 2015.
The 26-year-old singer said the Forbes list messed it up for him because he was getting texts from people showing cars. He said one message read, “I’d like this for my birthday, please. This one’s only .06 percent of your annual income.” He said because of the messages he has been getting since the list was released, he only communicates through his iPad and only his family has access over his flip phone. The phone is also only reserved to close friends and if there is an emergency.
Sheeran revealed on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last February he communicates via email and thinks it is less stressful since he does not have a phone number and not everyone could get access to him. He continued to reveal he wakes up every morning not having to answer messages from people asking for something.
Sheeran also talked about too many girls willing to have a one night stand with him because of his friendship with Taylor Swift. He said, “Taylor’s world is celebrity. I was this 22-year-old awkward British kid going on tour with the biggest artist in America, who has all these famous mates. It was very easy … I would often find myself in situations just kind of waking up and looking over and being like, ‘How the f—k did that happen?'” However, his single days are over as he is settled down with his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn.
Sheeran also just recently announced the 48-date North American tour. It will kick off in Kansas City on June 29 and iwill run through October 6.
