Washington, DC, United States (4E) – First Lady Michelle Obama will guest star on the May 3 episode of the hit series “NCIS” as CBS confirmed the news on Thursday.

According to reports, the episode will be airing in conjunction with “Joining Forces,” a nationwide initiative supporting service members, veterans and their families.

“NCIS” main producer Gary Glasberg took to Twitter to show a phot of the first lady with some of the cast members of the series. He wrote: "Filming inside the White House was a dream come true for the NCIS cast and crew. It was such a pleasure working with First Lady Michelle Obama and it's our honor to support the ‘Joining Forces' initiative and the military families that benefit from it."

The episode is said to be entitled “Homefront” and FLOTUS will be welcoming special agent Gibbs and the wife of a Marine to the White House for a “Joining Forces” roundtable with military spouses. Accordingly, the extras in the episode are actual military spouses.

The first lady launched “Joining Forces” with Dr. Jill Biden back in 2011. It is an initiative calling on all Americans to rally around service members, veterans, and their families to support them through wellness, education, and employment opportunities.

This is not the first TV appearance of the first lady as she has appeared on “Parks & Recreation,” Disney Channel show “Jessie,” and “Project Runway: Junior, Nashville.” The “NCIS” appearance, however, is the first drama series that the first lady took part of.

“Homefront” will be airing on Tuesday, May 3, at 8 P.M. on CBS.
