Paris, Paris, France (4E) – George Clooney called President Donald Trump as a Hollywood elitist and a hypocrite as well as his supporters not having the right to slam actress Meryl Streep.

Clooney is in France and he did an interview with the French news network called Canal+ and the actor said the fans of Trump have no right to bash Streep because the president they are supporting his himself a member of the Hollywood elite. He shared, "When Meryl spoke, everyone on that one side was, 'Well that's elitist Hollywood speaking.' Donald Trump has 22 acting credits in television … He collects $120,000 a year in his Screen Actors Guild pension fund. Uhh?! He is a Hollywood elitist."

Although Clooney was correct in saying that Trump has an annual pension from the Screen Actors Guild, he got the figures wrong. Trump disclosed during his campaign that he receives $110, 228 from the guild.

Aside from calling the president a Hollywood elitist, he also called Trump a demagogue. The comments of Clooney in defending Streep came after the actress accepted the Cecil B. DeMille lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes in January. During her speech, she never mentioned Trump by name but her speech was slammed by many of the supporters of Trump.

Trump himself tweeted against Streep calling her an over rated actress. During the Human Rights Gala earlier this month took a jab at Trump once again and defended her statements against the president.
