Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Jesse Helt , the homeless man who accompanied Miley Cyrus as her date in the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards, is trying to make money from the Moonman trophy she let him keep as he reportedly put it up on sale on eBay.

Helt took the stage with the “We Can’t Stop” singer to raise awareness regarding the homeless youth in the United States. Helt reportedly auctioned the pop star’s Moonman trophy at $10,000 but a Buy It Now Price tag is at $15,000. In the description, Helt wrote, “In mint condition. Very rare one of a kind. No fingerprints.”

As per reports, the 25-year-old is no longer homeless and is expecting his first baby in a few months. The Moonman trophy has his name and Cyrus’ name engraved on it. He allegedly wants to sell it because he wants to raise money for his child. The Moonman trophy was for the Video of the Year award to Cyrus for her “Wrecking Ball” song. He is also said to be living in Los Angeles at a studio apartment.

During the 2014 MTV VMAs , Helt urged people to visit the Facebook page of Cyrus and donate to the Los Angeles-based charity called “My Friend’s Place.” This is where young people, ages 12 to 25, are being assisted to find housing, jobs, healthcare, and schooling.

If the Moonman trophy will be sold, it will not be the first time that such will happen. Coolio's trophy for " Gangsta's Paradise" sold for $6,000 and U.S.A. for Africa's "We Are The World" Moonman sold for a whopping $72,000.

Cyrus has not yet commented on the matter.
