Trenton, NJ, United States (4E) – Joe Giudice has officially begun his 41-month prison sentenced and his wife Teresa Giudice opened up about his first days behind bars.

“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” reality star provided a statement for Bravo’s “The Daily Dish” via a video recording to update her fans about her husband’s state.

She began her statement thanking her fans for the support that they have given to her and to her family. She added, "All your love and support means the world to me and my family. It has been a difficult week for us, but we're making it through, thank God."

She then talked about her husband noting that Joe is doing well as expected and that they spoke to him as he spent his first days in prison. Teresa again said thank you to her fans and for all their “beautiful tweets.”

Joe arrived at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution in New Jersey last March 23. He has been convicted of bankruptcy fraud and for failure to file income tax returns. Teresa has spent time behind bars for less than a year and was able to be released a day before Christmas last year. She was supposed to spend 14 months in jail but had an early release.

Before Joe went on to serve his prison sentence, his family threw him a send away party and accordingly, his friends and family were very emotional that evening and gave speeches as a form of support.

Teresa and Joe have four children namely Gia , Gabriella, Audriana , and Milania . In a previous interview, Teresa talked about her husband’s prison sentence affecting their daughters. She said, "I feel bad for my daughters just having to go through this again. That's what breaks my heart."
