JoJo says her record label forced her to lose weight, announces new album and drops collaboration with Wiz Khalifa

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – JoJo has not been in the music scene for the past year and now she has announced her new album as well as her record label forcing her to lose weight in the past. JoJo also released a new song, which is a collaboration with Wiz Khalifa .

JoJo sat down with PopSugar for an interview and she said that she used to inject herself with weight loss supplements. She shared, "I was under a lot of pressure with a company I was at previously and they wanted me to lose weight fast. So they got me with a nutritionist and had me, like, on all these supplements, and I was injecting myself." The 25-year-old said the procedure made her body need only certain calories so she was eating 500 calories a day during that time.

The “Leave (Get Out)” singer added that she is not the only person who underwent such in order to please their record label. She claimed that it was a common thing for most female singers. She pointed out that she was aware it was unhealthy but she felt as if her career would suffer if she went against her record label’s moves.

However, her album never came out even if she did underwent procedures in order to lose weight fast. She said to PopSugar that she felt terrible about herself. JoJo then struggled with her self-confidence in the coming years. When she reached the age of 21, she decided to fight back. She noted that being strong mentally, emotionally, and physically is what she really loves.

JoJo has been silent for 10 years and now she is coming back with her album. The new album is entitled “Mad Love” and is set to be released this October 14. She will also be touring with the band Fifth Harmony until September. She also recently released her collaboration with Wiz Khalifa entitled “F*** Apologies.”

JoJo has been involved in a lawsuit with her former record label and she said that she started recording “Mad Love” at 17 or 18 while the legal dispute was ongoing. She also revealed that her father’s death in November influenced her album because they have bonded through music when he was still alive.

She ended her recent interview saying that the thing she is most looking forward to is when she will be revealing her full-length album.
