Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Kate McKinnon is now part of the Netflix reboot of “Magic School Bus” and she will be voicing the character of Ms. Frizzle, the bus driver.

The animated reboot initially had Lily Tomlin as the red-headed schoolteacher from 1994 to 1998. There are no reports if Tomlin will be taking on any role in the animated reboot.

The producer of the original “Magic School Bus” animate show, Stu Stone, who also voiced one of the characters, Ralphie , said that some familiar voices will be returning in the reboot. Last month, Stone said in an interview, “There are tons of cameos planned. I know that there are big stars who want to be involved in this. And there’s a whole generation of people who grew up on this series that want to be a part of it now that it’s back.”

He revealed that some of these voice actors who will be part of the “Magic School Bus” animated reboot are Carol Channing, Dan Marino, Dolly Parton, Eartha Kitt , Edward James Olmos , Malcolm McDowell, Rosalind Chao, and Swoosie Kurtz.

Not many details were revealed as to what is expected of the “Magic School Bus” reboot. It was reported, however, that a modernized and high-tech bus will be featured as well as a modernized Ms. Frizzle. There was no slated release date yet.

In the past, McKinnon lent her voice in other animated movies such as “Finding Dory,” “The Angry Birds Movie,” and “The Venture Bros.”

McKinnon has not yet released a statement about this.
