New York City, NY, United States (4E) – Hillary Clinton supported Katy Perry at the Snowflake Ball of UNICEF and the singer praised her boyfriend Orlando Bloom for having a kind heart.
Perry was honored during this year’s UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York City with the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award. Perry has been an ambassador for UNICEF since 2013 and Bloom was the recipient of the same award. Perry then said that it is funny and she gushed about the actor saying that he has the “most kind heart ever.”
Perry, via UNICEF, recently participated in field visits in Vietnam and Madagascar as well as raised more than $1 million for the organization via her Prismatic World Tour.
Perry continued to share, "With UNICEF, I go on the field and I'm in those situations, and I'm with those kids and I'm in the poverty. I'm in the helplessness. I'm in the sadness. I feel it. I absorb it so much." She added that she then tries to take her light not only on social media but also in any way she could influence others in order to help those in need and in order to bring awareness.
As for the award from UNICEF, Perry said that she felt like she should not be getting an award this early but she believes it is a symbol and a sign for her to always continue helping others. She also thinks that the award is a reminder that she has to be on the filed so as to do something that matters.
More on Clinton supporting Perry, it was reported that the former Secretary of State was with Katy Perry at her table alongside Bloom and Allison Williams. Clinton also presented the award to Perry herself. This marks the second official appearance of Clinton since her loss from Donald Trump during the recently-concluded presidential elections.
Clinton gave a speech about Perry saying that the singer is someone who has the spirit, energy, and compassion that is tantamount to what Audrey Hepburn did for UNICEF. She also said that Perry has a powerful voice and creative lyrics reminding everyone to get back up when they get knocked down. Clinton continued to praise Perry for her commitment for the causes she believes in and how deeply she cares about the world being a better place.
