Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Selena Gomez recently said that she is taking the time off as she is struggling from fame and Lady Gaga commented on the matter saying that she understands the struggle of the young songstress.
The 30-year-old was interviewed in KTU 103.5 and the hosts of the show, Cubby and Carolina Bermudez , discussed that there are many artists who are not willing to take a break from their career then mentioned Gomez grabbing that opportunity after her Revival tour ended. Gomez said that due to her lupus, she decided to take the time off since she discovered that anxiety, panic attacks, and depression are the side effects of her illness.
Gaga then shared, “Is the fame thing really that serious, where it takes you kind of a minute to check yourself? I’d say it’s definite, I mean, serious is broad…term. There is a lot of really serious things going on in the world. So, it’s hard to say…But I would say that you know, fame is, is very isolating, something that takes a moment for you to stabilize yourself, especially if you’re really in it for the music, or your craft, because it can be a distraction from all of those things.”
The former fiancée of Taylor Kinney said that fame is suddenly about keeping up with people’s career and being on top. She also revealed that she decided to take the time off for three years in order to craft her new album. She noted that she took her time to have “human connection.”
This is not the first time that Gomez took some time off. In 2013, she cut her Stars Dance tour on hold also due to health-related reasons.
Gomez has not yet commented on Gaga’s statements.
