New York, NY, United States (4E) – Mariah Carey just released a voice recording about her New Year’s Eve performance at the Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve concert noting that the production team that handled them foiled her and the incident was an opportunity to humiliate her.

The 46-year-old took to Twitter to share the nearly two-minute audio recording of herself. She started off by saying that she never really addressed the situation and she will in time. However, she said that she wants everyone to know that before her performances, she went there in great spirit and was looking forward to a celebratory moment with the world. She added, “It’s a shame that we were put into the hands of a production team with technical issues, who chose to capitalize on circumstances beyond our control.”

Carey continued to say that aside from the technical difficulties, she was also dealing with other conditions like the crowd, the cold temperature, and the smoke machines so it was not possible for her to get through her live performance because her ear piece was not working at all.

The mother-of-two added, “Listen guys, they foiled me. Thus, it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me. Eventually, I will explain this in greater detail for anyone who cares to hear. I cannot deny that my feelings are hurt, but I’m working through this and I’m truly grateful for my fans and my true friends who have been so supportive in this time.”

Carey then said that she will be taking a break from the media and her social media accounts but she will still fulfill her professional obligations. The break will make her take a moment to be with her loved ones and have time for herself. She also talked about her upcoming tour in March.

Dick Clark Productions released a statement stating that they did not set Carey up to fail. They called the remarks of Carey and her team to be defamatory, absurd, and outrageous. They also said that they have their utmost respect for Carey.
