Mariah Carey says 2016 is a good year despite postponed wedding, new details emerge about her new boyfriend

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Mariah Carey is no longer sulking over her failed romance with James Packer as the singer shared in a new interview that she has no regrets for 2016 and called this year a great one.
The “Mariah’s World” star shared when she was asked of what she thought of her 2016 during the premiere party of her E! show at Catch in New York City, "There were so many really good parts of 2016. I think people should watch the show because they're gonna see, they're gonna see moments. I'm just so glad that I documented it."
As for Carey’s new boyfriend, 33-year-old choreographer Bryan Tanaka , more details have emerged about him. He said in a statement, "I've always had a thing for Mariah. I love her so much. Just make sure you tune in to the show and you'll see kind of how everything happens." Carey added that it was nice reconnecting with Tanaka especially with someone she has worked with in the past.
The two have been friends for a decade and Tanaka said that something connected with them back in the day noting that they both have admiration for each other. The two toured together in 2006 for the Adventures of Mimi tour.
In 2014, Tanaka took to Instagram to post about how grateful he was about Carey. He said that she has supported him and that she has been so kind.
It is believed that Packer was jealous of the closeness of Carey and Tanaka before the engagement ended. Accordingly, the Australian billionaire confronted Tanaka after he showed up to the Las Vegas show of Carey even if he was not able to perform because of an injury. Allegedly, Packer banned the dancer from attending the Caesars Palace show. It is also rumored that Packer got jealous of Tanaka after his then- fiancée gave the dancer a lap dance jokingly to help the injured knee of the choreographer.
Tanaka and Carey most recently enjoyed Thanksgiving together. The two were spotted during a PDA-filled trip at the beach at Maui’s Grand Wailea Resort in Hawaii. Carey was with her two kids and ex-husband, Nick Cannon.
