Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Amid the backlash that President Donald Trump is facing from other Hollywood star, Matthew McConaughey took to Twitter to ask people to be constructive with the Republican head of state and accept that he is the 45th president of the United States.
McConaughey was promoting his new flick called “Gold” when he was asked to talk about Trump, who is recently under fire due to the executive order banning immigrants from entering the country. The question as about what McConaughey thinks regarding Hollywood giving Trump a break. He answered, "Well, they don't have a choice now," said McConaughey . "He's our president. And it's very dynamic and as divisive of an inauguration and time that we've ever had. At the same time, it's time for us to embrace, shake hands with this fact and be constructive with him over the next four years."
Many took to Twitter to say something against McConaughey’s comments. One tweet reads that although the actor is from Austin, Texas, his views do not represent the people there. Others claimed he lost his mind for suggesting that people should embrace Trump.
McConaughey is one of the few people who publicly announced their support for Trump. Kanye West said last year that he would have voted for the real estate mogul if he had the chance to do so. Caitlyn Jenner also supports Trump.
Stars who continue to oppose Trump are Lady Gaga, Meryl Streep , Angelina Jolie, Sia , Rosie O’Donnell, Alec Baldwin, and many more.
