Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Melanie Brown, also known as Mel B of the girl group Spice Girls, claimed in a new statement that she suffered years of abuse from her estranged husband, Stephen Belfonte, that is why she filed a restraining order against him.

Mel B, a mainstay in “America’s Got Talent” and “X Factor,” accused Belafonte of many things in the documents filed. The two, both 41 years old, have been married for 10 years and have one child together.

In the documents, Mel B claimed Belafonte was extremely aggressive, hostile and violent. She noted that she suffered from multiple physical beatings throughout their 10-year marriage. The restraining order was granted and Belafonte was ordered to leave their Los Angeles home and stay away from the three kids namely 18-year-old Phoenix, 10-year-old Angel, and five-year-old Madison. Madison is the only child that Mel B has with Belafonte.

Mel B also detailed the accounts when he beat her. She claimed in November 2007 before the “Dancing With The Stars” finale, he choked and slammed her against the floor. In July of 2012, Mel B said her husband accused her of flirting with Usher while they taped a segment for “X Factor” and Belafonte punched her in the face due to jealousy.

A month later, Mel B said Belafonte punched and pushed her after she performed with her girl group at the London Olympics. She added Belafonte forced her to tweet about injuring herself while running in seven-inch Christian Louboutins. She claimed Belafonte beat her whenever something great happened in her life.

Mel B also claimed her ex impregnated their former nanny. He wanted the nanny to keep the baby and live with them but he forced the nanny to abort the child. He reportedly used Mel B’s money to pay for the abortion.

The restraining order and details about her relationship with Belafonte came weeks after she filed for divorce from him. Mel B said the final straw was after she believed Belafonte intentionally hid her passport when she was supposed to travel to the U.K. because of her dying father.

The singer and TV personality also said she lived in fear for years after he forced her to participate in threesomes and he recorded the encounters. She said he threatened he would release the intimate videos to ruin her career if she did not accede to his commands.

Belafonte denied all the allegations.
