Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Actress Mischa Barton was hospitalized on Thursday morning after she voluntarily checked in for mental evaluation after police officials responded to disturbance calls to her home.

The calls were said to be made around 7:15 A.M. regarding a disturbance coming from her West Hollywood apartment. When officials arrived, the 31-year-old actress had one guest in her apartment. Barton was said to be fully clothes and was speaking in coherent statements. “The O.C.” star then willingly went to the hospital for mental evaluation, Sergeant Duncan of West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department confirmed.

It was unclear who the guest of Barton was in her home when police came. Friends said that before the disturbance calls, Barton celebrated her birthday in Los Angeles with her friends. She reportedly looked like she was having a great time as per a witness.

Other friends claimed that Barton said bizarre things on Thursday morning such as calling her mother a witch and talking about the world shattering. Barton also reportedly leaned over the fence and fell backward. She allegedly said, “Oh, my God, it’s over! I feel it, and it’s angry!”

This is not the first time that Barton was checked for her mental health. In July 2009, she was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold by the Los Angeles Police Department after she had a meltdown, which she referred to as a freak out. She was placed in a psychiatric hold after she was restrained by staff and she threatened to commit suicide. She was later placed in a hospital after four days at the psych ward.

Barton recently made a comeback to TV for the season 22 of “Dancing With the Stars.” She did not, however, like the experience as she compared it to a popularity contest.

She and her representatives are yet to comment on the matter.
