Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Nick Jonas was candid in answering questions thrown during his Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session and the former Disney star talked about Miley Cyrus, Jay Z, Kanye West and many more.
Jonas and Cyrus dated when they were teenagers and when they were both Disney stars. When asked about being friends with her, he shared, "It's been a while since I spoke to Miley, but I think that the persona is awesome and I think that she is living proof that you can continue to evolve as an artist and a creator. And I'm a huge Woody Allen fan, so I'm looking forward to seeing the show that she's doing with him." Cyrus is reportedly working on a TV series with Allen.
One Reddit user asked Jonas about the biggest difference between life in the brother band and going sole, he shared that he has the ability to create his own destiny and “really step forth.” Jonas was part of the Jonas Brothers band with his siblings Joe and Kevin.
He added, "…With the brother stuff, I constantly go back and reminisce about the music that we released together and touring and you know it was some of the best years of my life. So you know, thinking back to some of those records that we released and got to play was really fun."
The singer and actor also talked about his new album entitled “Last Year Was Complicated” as well as his new music video with Tove Lo. He noted that the music video was amazing to shoot but it is NSFW as they strip down to their underwear and roll around.
As for the title of his new album, he noted that the rapper mogul, Jay Z, helped him pick it. He noted that Jay Z asked him how his last year was and said, “Last year was complicated” and the husband of Beyonce said, “That’s it.” Jay Z now works with his manager Phil McIntyre.
More about music, Jonas shared that his dream collaborators are West and Prince. He shared, “I’d love to work with Kanye , and at some point in time Prince would be amazing as well. I had the chance to perform with Stevie Wonder at the Grammys with my brothers and play with Paul McCartney at the Whitehouse, so Prince is kinda like the completion to my Holy Trinity of music.”
Another fan asked how he copes with diabetes, as that fan also has the same disease. He noted that coping with it is difficult and he had challenges over the last couple of years. However, he has a great doctor and the tools so it helps him keep it all together.
