Las Vegas, NV, United States (4E) – Nicole Scherzinger attended the 2017 Billboard Music Awards over the weekend and said that she might be part of the next season of “X-Factor” in U.K.
She was asked during an interview while she walked the red carpet if she will be back and the former Pussycat Doll frontwoman said she cannot confirm yet but she thinks she will be. She first became a judge on the reality show in 2012 and many have been requesting for her to be back.
Simon Cowell, the boss of the franchise, said recently that he hoped to keep the same panel of judges for the next season of “X-Factor U.K.” as Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh both signed up for the job. However, despite Cowell wanting to have the same judges, Scherzinger reportedly had reservations and did not say yes just yet.
Rumors then swirled claiming that Mel B or Mariah Carey might take the place of Scherzinger. However, reports recently surfaced that she is days away from signing the contract and although it is not yet a done deal, everyone is expecting she will be back. The source added, "Mariah is one of the biggest selling artists in history and her expense bill for her and her huge entourage was just too high." A spokesperson for “X-Factor” said that there is no formal decision yet.
In a previous interview, Scherzinger said, “I don't know yet. We’ll see. I might [be back on X Factor]. But I want to get back to creating. Last year I did a lot of TV and I loved it, but I didn’t spend time with the artist in me. The idea of doing that excites me more than anything.”
