Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Olivia Wilde has explained why she is not rushing to tie the knot with her fiancé of three years, Jason Sudeikis , in her new interview with online magazine, The EDIT.
The 31-year-old actress revealed that she and Sudeikis are in no rush to marry because they have made the “ultimate commitment” by having a son together. She shared, "Before you have a child, marriage is the ultimate commitment and promise to one another. Then once you have a child, it's like, 'Oh, we're committed and promised already.'" Sudeikis and Wilde have been dating for two years when he proposed to her in January 2013. The two had their child, named Otis Alexander Sudeikis , over a year later after they got engaged.
Aside from that, the mother of one also talked about male dominance in film and television. She said, "People don't realize what they're saying, because you hear it from both men and women. But there's this sense that a project is incomplete if there's no male participation." She pointed out that she also experienced sexism first hand in the showbiz industry.
Aside from that, she also talked about the much talked about issue of her agreeing to do a shoot with Glamour magazine showing her breastfeeding her son at a public diner. The photos received a mix of backlash. She shared, "I didn't know breastfeeding was controversial. The fact that (the media) is sexualizing is shocking.”
More on the “Vinyl” actress and Sudeikis , the two recently enjoyed a night out with their 22-month-old son and some of their family. They were in NY’s Meatpacking District and the couple treated the father of Sudeikis for his birthday. The event took place at the Old Homestead Steakhouse.
An insider shared, " Sudeikis and Wilde, along with their 22-month-old son and over a dozen family members and friends, were whisked into a private room at Old Homestead Steakhouse."
