Palm Springs, CA, United States (4E) – “Orange Is The New Black” star Samira Wiley and one of the show’s writer, Lauren Morelli, tied the knot over the weekend.

Wiley and Morelli have met on the Netflix show and have been together for a time now. Martha Stewart Weddings said in a statement the wedding ceremony of the two took place in Palm Springs, California and their wedding was confetti-themed.

The parents of Wiley officiated the wedding ceremony. Wiley and Morelli both wore custom Christian Siriano wedding dresses.

Martha Stewart Weddings posted a photo of the two in their wedding gowns on the Instagram account of the company and will also feature the wedding of the couple in their upcoming issue. The photo was also shared by Morelli and she captioned it with “Wifey for Lifey.”

Morelli was married to a man in the past. She and her former husband were married for two years before they divorced in 2014. She realized she was gay while shooting “Orange Is The New Black.” Not long after, she dated Wiley. Morelli said in an interview last December with Out Magazine, “Samira became my outlet and through that process I fell in love with her. But I thought, This will be the one that got away. Being with her felt too good to be true.”

In 2014, Morelli wrote about how she realized she was gay. “Orange Is The New Black” centers on lesbian relationships behind bars. She said she borrowed emotions from her own life when she wrote a scene about the main character trying to reconcile with her husband after a lesbian sexual encounter behind bars with a former flame.

She wrote that time, "Five months after my wedding, I flew to New York to start production on my first episode of Orange, and from that moment on my life fell into a parallel rhythm with Piper's story in a way that went from interesting to terrifying in a matter of months."
