Ryan Gosling and La La Land director Damien Chazelle to work together for Neil Armstrong biopic

Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – “La La Land” star Ryan Gosling and the director of the musical, Damien Chazelle , will once again team up for a new movie regarding a Neil Armstrong biopic based on “First Man: A Life of Neil A. Armstrong.”
Josh Singer was tapped to write the script for the flick based on the biography written by James Hansen and Gosling has been part of the project since last year. However, he only signed with the deal to star in the Neil Armstrong biopic earlier this month.
There are no other details about the “First Man” biopic but it is expected to focus on the life of Armstrong not only as the first man on the moon but also what jobs he had before that. He first served as a Navy pilot in the World War II then he joined the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics. He became a test pilot and engineer for the committee. It was not stated who are the other actors and actresses tapped to be part of the “First Man” biopic .
The first mission of Armstrong was in 1962, which was the Gemini 8. He was able to successful dock two vehicles in space, which was a first. On July 21, 1969, he became the first man who walk on the moon as part of Apollo 11.
Hansen’s biography was based on the more than 50 hours of interview he had with Armstrong. In the biography, he also talked about the naval aviator flying of Armstrong over North Korea and other milestones he was able to achieve.
The Neil Armstrong biopic will be produced by Temple Hill partners Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen. Isaac Klausner will be the executive producers and Hansen will also co-produce. Universal’s VP of Production Sara Scott will be overseeing the whole flick. No release date has been slated yet.
