Queens, NY, United States (4E) – Shia LaBeouf is best known for his performances in movies and being a Disney child star but he is also known for his art performances and the latest was an anti-Donald Trump show in New York, which resulted in him being arrested.
The performance was livestreamed and it was about a protest against Trump. LaBeouf was arrested on Thursday and was charged with misdemeanor assault and harassment charges. In the video that surfaced online, LaBeouf talked about Trump in an outrage-laced discussion. In another video, other protesters chanted “He will not divide us,” which are the same words written on the wall where they were protesting.
A police officer was then seen talking to LaBeouf . It seemed like that the two had a verbal altercation before the actor was placed in handcuffs and was escorted away from the area. Detective Adam Navarro of the New York City Police Department said that LaBeouf was issued a desk appearance ticket and is set to come back to court on April 4.
LaBeouf was only arrested after he got into an argument with another man. LaBeouf reportedly pulled off the scarf of the man and scratched the latter’s face.
The other collaborators at the art project of LaBeouf are Nastja Sade Ronkko and Luke Turner. During the inauguration of Trump, LaBeouf placed a camera outside of the Museum of the Movie Image in Queens. Citizens were invited to repeat the words “he will not divide us” into the camera.
