Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – “Modern Family” actress Sofia Vergara has filed a $15 million lawsuit against a beauty company as they used her as an endorser without her knowledge.
According to reports, the company has been identified as Venus Concept and the 43-year-olds image and name has been used to promote their products at exhibition boots, trade shows, as well as for their internet advertisements.
The actress claimed in her lawsuit that the beauty company has used her image for their advertisements without her permission. She was first linked to Venus Concept during the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards back in August of 2014 and has been battling with the company for more than a year now.
Accordingly, the actress used the Venus Legacy machine to get ready for the aforementioned event and posted a WhoSay photos during her treatment. In the snap, she was resting on her stomach and a woman was massaging her backside. At that time, she wrote as a caption: "What is so funny Marilyn?? Legacy massage at @drlancerrx ."
The company allegedly has been using her blown-up photos, specifically her face, to promote the company’s products.
An insider shared, “Sofía personally prides herself on believing in what she sells and she talks about it genuinely. For someone to just slap her face and image on something that she doesn’t even like, she just feels like she’s cheating her fans.”
The only endorsement deals that Vergara has acknowledged are those with Cover Girl, Head & Shoulders, and Rooms 2 GO.
Venus Concept is yet to release a statement about the lawsuit filed against them by the actress.
