Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – The rumors surrounding the troubled marriage of Scarlett Johansson and Romain Dauriac was confirmed after the actress filed for divorce from her French husband.
Reports claim the divorce papers were served months before the split rumors surfaced. The two have been married for almost three years. The former couple are said to battle it out in court over the custody of their young daughter, Rose. They had her shortly after they got married. Accordingly, Dauriac wants their daughter to live with him in France.
In the divorce papers, Johansson asked for the primary physical custody of their two-year-old toddler. She does not want him to take her to France since she travels a lot.
According to sources, Duriac and Johansson have not been together since last year around summer. Johansson is said to be the one who pulled the plug on their marriage but the reason behind it remains unclear.
The lawyer for Johansson, Judith Poller, served the divorce filings to the attorney of Dauriac, Haroly Mayerson. The divorce filings were sent on Tuesday.
The two were first linked when they were seen having a lunch date in New York City in 2012. Months later, she was spotted wearing an engagement ring and they got married in 2014.
A source said of the divorce news, “I’ve been expecting this for some time. Romain and Scarlett has never made sense to me. They aren’t equals. There’s always been something wrong with this picture.” The exes remain amicable for their daughter.
This is the second marriage of Johansson. She was married to Ryan Reynolds from 2008 to 2011.
