Stana Katic will not come back for ‘Castle’ Season 9

Hollywood, CA, United States (4E) – Actress Stana Katic , best known for her role as Kate Beckett on the long-running ABC show “Castle,” is rumored to no longer be coming back for the ninth season of the series.

The 37-year-old’s character is said to be no longer returning for season 9 if and when ABC decides to pick the show up for one more season. An insider shared, “Kate Beckett has been a beloved character on our hit seriesCastle for the past 8 years. We are grateful for Stana Katic’s talent and dedication to the series and we hope to continue our relationship. Tamala Jones has also been an integral part of the series and we are grateful she was a part of Castle.” Jones plays the role of Lanie Parish and she is also out.

Katic also released a statement about the report saying that she is very grateful to ABC for giving her the opportunity to be part of a much beloved show. She concluded her statement by thanking the fans of the series.

It is unclear how the relationship of Kate Beckett and Rick Castle, played by Nathan Fillion , will end if in case the reports are true that she will no longer be seen in the supposed upcoming season of the show. Season 8 of “Castle” has suffered from low ratings and decreasing number of viewers due to the plot. Castle and Beckett broke up for a couple of episodes and fans did not like that.

Other stars who are no longer sure if they will be coming back for season 9 in case there will be one are Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever . They play the fan favorite cop duo on the show named Esposito and Ryan.

Huertas took to Twitter to say the following: "Who knows what ABC has in store at this point. @seamusdever & I haven't been asked back yet either… Uh oh. #NothingIsAsitSeemsAnymore.”

“Castle” airs Mondays at 10 P.M. on ABC.
