Surgery complications lead to demise of Bill Paxton, actor dead at 61

Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Bill Paxton, best known for his roles on “Aliens,” “Apollo 13,” and “Twister” passed away at the age of 61 due to surgery complications.
His family released an official statement on Sunday about his passing but did not provide further details as to what surgery did Paxton undergo before he died. His family also said that Paxton went on to have an illustrious career that spanned for four decades. They also said Paxton was a prolific actor and filmmaker. The statement added, “Bill's passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable.”
Many of Paxton’s friends took to Twitter to honor the actor. Tom Hanks said Paxton was simply a wonderful man while Kevin Bacon said some of his favorite memories would be that of he and Paxton floating around in a tiny vessel with the big-hearted, hilarious, and brilliant actor. Arnold Schwarzenegger also tweeted, “Bill Paxton could play any role, but he was best at being Bill – a great human being with a huge heart. My thoughts are with his family.” Actress Charlize Theron also said Paxton was a great friend to her and one of the finest actors to share a set with.
Jamie Lee Curtis also wrote on Twitter, “Nooooo. Bill Paxton is gone. Such a funny, talented, loving human. Louise & the children & family my (heart emoji) & support 2 u.” Jennifer Aniston, on the other hand, teared up when she presented the In Memoriam segment at the 2017 Oscars.
Paxton received four Golden Globe nominations and an Emmy Award nomination. He also won a SAG Award in 1996.
He is survived by his wife, Louise Newbury, and his two children, Lydia and James Paxton.
