Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – Tyra Banks will once again be the host of “America’s Next Top Model” despite saying in the past she will only be working behind the camera and will guest in some of the scenes.
Banks said in a statement, “I’m overwhelmed and humbled by the intensity of the ‘ANTM’ fan base whose deep affection for the show led me to have a change of heart. After giving it a lot of thought, I realized that remaining behind the camera wasn’t enough because ‘ANTM’ is woven into my DNA.” She also took to Twitter to say she missed her “ANTM” baby so she is back for Cycle 24 of the reality search.
In 2015, Banks said she will be ending the series after 12 years and 22 seasons. However, VH1 revived “America’s Next Top Model” and Cycle 23 was hosted by Rita Ora. The panel of judges included Ashley Graham, Paper magazine Chief Creative Officer Drew Elliott, and celebrity stylist Law Roach.
The executive producer of “ANTM,” Ken Mok, said Banks has always been the heart and soul of the “Top Model” franchise and her absence was felt by the fans that is why they decided to have her back. Mok also said they want to thank Ora for being a great partner and a total pro. Mok continued to say Ora infused her new iteration for “ANTM” with passion and creativity.
Graham, Elliott, and Roach may no longer be part of “America’s Next Top Model” Cycle 24. It is unclear if the other judges from the past seasons will be part of the panel again.
The mother-of-one will also be hosting “America’s Got Talent.” She will be taking over Nick Cannon’s post in the NBC show.
