Los Angeles, CA, United States (4E) – It has been three months since Vanessa Hudgens lost her father, Greg Hudgens, and in her latest interview, she talked about her father’s death.
Gred died at the age of 65 on January 30 after he has been battling stage 4 cancer. Vanessa revealed the news the following morning, which was hours before she performed for FOX’s “Grease Live!” musical special. Vanessa played the role of Rizo and she said in her tweets before appearing for the show that her performance on live television will be done in her father’s honor.
Vanessa shared in her latest interview about adjusting to live without her dad, "There are highs and there are lows. It sucks, but death happens. It never makes it easier but it happens to all of us. It's just something we have to get through until we all meet again in heaven."
Aside from Vanessa, Greg is also survived by his youngest daughter, Stella Hudgens, 20, and his wife, Gina Hudgens. Vanessa also shared, "My mom looks out through such beautiful eyes. I've learned to follow her lead. She's so strong through the hardest of times. But she has this lightheartedness and this light that just beams out of her very being and it's so special.”
Vanessa earned high praises for her performance on “Grease Live!” especially for the emotional solo ballad of Rizzo entitled “There Are Worse Things I Could Do.” However, she also was praised for being a professional as she went on with the show despite her father’s recent death.
The “High School Musical” alum also received a lot of support from her friends such as 30-year-old Ashley Tisdale .
